*Castiel had grown tired of being stuck in dirty motel rooms, pouring over books and searching for answers that he couldn't find. He decided to leave the motel, get some "fresh air" as the humans around him called it, and headed to the local park.
He wandered around, looking the exact picture of a lost soul who needed help finding their way toward their purpose in life. His eyes flickered from tree to tree, across the ground and still slightly wet grass from the morning dew. He followed the trail of a squirrel as it bounded past and up a tree, startling a bird that cried out and flew away.
It all fascinated Castiel. The way nature worked in this mysterious way that even he couldn't completely understand. He stood near the tree, gazing upwards, unaware of any presence around him.*

First Meetings
She had been taking a picture of the dew caught on a spider's web when a startled bird caught her attention. She stood just in time to focus her camera on the bird's flight as it found solace in a different tree. Wondering what had startled it, she brought her camera down from her face and took a proper look around, her voice almost hesitant as she called out, "Hello?"

There's a ghost of a real smile on his lips and he holds out a hand to the woman. "I am Castiel."

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Rachel."

He takes another pause before smiling at her. "I am taking a break from it now. Thank you for your concern over my well being. It has been rare that I meet someone like you."

"I'm not that unique...I'm just, myself." Her voice was soft as she brought the camera back down.

There was a light blush along her cheeks as he offered to treat her for breakfast, and after a moment of thought her stomach growled softly and she let out a laugh.
"Sounds like you've convinced my stomach first, so I'll be happy to accept your offer graciously." She set her camera on standby before settling it into her purse. "Let's find something yummy..."

Rachel took in a soft breath as she stared at the treetops across the way; the sun had been up for a few hours but was just starting to peek over the treetops there. Nature always took her breath away and today was no different, other than there was someone to see her. She stood perfectly still her features relaxed and an open almost innocent awe on her face as everything was enveloped in sunshine.

He moved to follow Rachel out of the park but stopped when she did. He opened his mouth to ask what was wrong, why she had stopped but the answer was obvious. She was staring up into the trees, eyes widening in a way Cas has never seen. Her expression was beautiful. The way she was taking in the plain beauty of nature; that was something Castiel had never witnessed in a human being. Most people would just continue through their day without ever stopping to notice what was really around them. This woman was obviously different and Castiel found himself being pulled in by that.
"You are different."

"So I've been told, and I'm rather fond of it to be honest. Shall we go on to see what's nearby?" Her smile was genuine and slight dimples could be seen in her cheeks. She started to move towards the exit again, a slight sprint in her step as she did so.

"You don't close your heart or mind like others do."

"I guess, it came to a point where I realized that I might not be able to choose the people who hurt me, but closing myself off all the time was something I could do something about. In the end closing myself away only hurt me more. And it helps that I pursued photography, I have to look at the world a little differently to capture the moments everyone else overlooks....and now I'm rambling. I'm sorry." Rachel blushed a bit, letting out a soft laugh.
